Twisted

Skirt: Helmut Lang (similar style here, here, & here), Top: H&M -old (similar style), Shoes: ASOS, Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs, Necklace: gifted, Watch: Kenneth Cole, Ring:

There is nothing I love more than an awesome maxi skirt. Well that may be a bit of an over exaggeration as I love a few things more, like chocolate, and my dog, but you catch my drift.   This one in particular is currently the wardrobe all star because it borderlines on casual and well put together. And we all know it’s a fairly thoughtless process to throw on a maxi, but this skirt prevents it from looking as such.

On a related topic, I was out the other night in an oversized sweater (This one) and a girl sitting next to me leaned over and said “I’m so jealous, you look so cozy” and left it at that. So, my lesson has been learned, when throwing on a piece that’s easy, i.e. oversized sweater, maxi skirts, beanies, don’t assume you look put together because some people would rather call it cozy than chic.  So in an effort to throw my self together in a more organized manner I’ll always opt for some heels and jewelry to boot.

Happy Thursday!

Navy Ruffles

Top: Asos (it's on sale!), Navy Trouser: H&M - (Similar look),  Bag: Warehouse , Necklace: H&M (love this one too)Heels: Steve Madden

After two harrowing weeks of the flu, that I self diagnosed as swine because it was that bad, I am finally on my feet again. I mean, one benefit of the flu is that I’m finally back down to my high school weight, which is cool, and I basically coughed my way to a 6 pack, which is also cool, minus all the coughing. I felt the need to dress up after two weeks of wearing basically the same thing everyday, I maybe changed twice #ew. I found this top on ASOS a while back and couldn’t quite dream of the perfect place to wear it, but when you’re desperate to look pretty again who cares where you go right. So this was my welcome back to health look, and I’ll tell ya- wearing pants never felt so good.

Black & White Stripes

Dress: H&M (similar style here & here), Vest: Forever 21, Shoes: Just Fab, Bag: Urban Outfitters

Hey guys! Just stopping in to wish you all a happy Friday and a great weekend. I’ve spent that last few days in bed thanks to that pesky little flu bug. I’d love to chat but my mind is wondering in weird places due to lack of sleep, and maybe a little too many meds.  Thankfully I’ve had full support from Stanley (as seen above) and his many licks and cuddles, so things aren’t all that bad on my end.

Bridged Grid

Top: Topshop, Pants: Mossimo  (on sale!), Bag: Nasty Gal (love this version!) Pumps: Steve Madden, Lips: Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream Lip-Deep Red

Even in the worst of times there’s nothing a little shopping can’t fix, and that’s just what I did. Well, I’m not necessarily in the worst of times; it’s more like just fine of times…but who can’t use a little shopping pick me anyway.  This top is a recent Topshop buy and it was one of those things that called to me. It’s pretty simple but it fits me, and my wardrobe perfectly.  The plaid makes it casual, the chiffon makes it dressy and the silhouette makes it oh so flattering. It was worth a little “I shouldn’t buy this but I’m going to buy it anyway” guilt.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sweater Weather

Top: Topshop, Sweater: Pull&Bear, Pants: H&M, Scarf:, Bag: Asos, Boots: Jeffery Campbell, Glasses: Scandal (similar)

For anyone that knows me, personally or as a frequent observer of  & So It Goes has probably identified my serious obsession for sweaters.  Let’s just say the winter section in my closet hangs extra low with all that sweater weight.  This sweater in particular has been my go to for this season. I’ve paired it with dresses and heals, skirts and flats, and clearly in this case jeans and boots. I assume by the end of wintertime I will have paired it with just about everything.  As a sweater enthusiast I appreciate all forms, long, think, cashmere, pull over, but in the end my favorites are usually the chunky kind that can be thrown over anything. Heck, I don’t even try to match them anymore.  So I guess what I’m trying to say is one: I love sweaters and two: be prepared to see this one in the mix (and probably a lot).

XO….
